FALL INTO FALL

You might find me at the soccer field in sweats and a faux fur.

Realistically, Victoria is always a true friend. I will be living in sweats this fall. Its my summer time sadness response.

FOOD DETECTIVE



Girl, this ones for you! Remember, we are free from dieting! And mommy runners, lets be real with each other! You will be driving through that MceeDee's one day or another, don't feel guilty.
Its all in the switch up. 
1. Grab a really yummy chocolate performance protein shake instead of a chocolate milkshake. Seriously, mixed with ice, its close.
2. I love me sum crunch. Find a better option than a chip. I'm not for the celery crunch either, I get it. I can switch to air pop corn though.
3. All fast food is gross. There are those darn unprepared days that we've gone to the drive thru and you can find a healthier option.
4. Stock your freezer. Sounds gross? Nope, these days its better to grab a Lean Cuisine and let those taste buds go crazy for low calorie, small portion. Remember, we made peace with pasta so if you want the chicken alfedo this might be the way.
5. You know Pinterest? Well, get on the bandwagon and search for skinny drinks. See, if you have the mindset of rejecting the diet mentality then you are free of guilt. BUT(!!!) the world isn't there yet. So yes, you're still going to have to say or use the lame word skinny. I'm sure you could use healthy living or green drinks to but I am talking bout' a better option for a sangria or espresso martini. Just bein' real peeps.

SATISFACTION

Changes in life, like a body makeover, should not be taken lightly. Kinda like a marriage. In the end, the hard work of renovation and rebuilding is a huge leap of faith but total satisfaction. Although it would feel great to run in white Lulu's, the confidence knowing that God loves me pushes out any insecurity that comes from negative thoughts. You get those sometimes, right? Challenge yourself and go for it! We're with you every step of the way.

HOW TO LOOK GOOD IN BATHING SUIT

Seriously rockin, right? 
For me, healthy curves are more of a reality. And, how cute is she?!

I deserve to have a healthy body and not just because our world is constantly in the pursuit of being skinny or dying (literally) to look good in a bathing suit but it just feels so good! The energy and the fuel I get to be a mama to our four crazy girls is worth it. And hey, I want to feel good in a bathing suit, a cute and fun one too!
How to do it:
1. Be a friend with food. The second I punish myself over a donut it sends me into crazy guilt mode and a behavior of starving myself and then binging on another donut. I know, Im weird like that but you know you are too!
2. FREE YOURSELF, of everything from that new diet book or popular "hope in a bottle". All that leads to are serious mind games and weight gain. Totally INEFFECTIVE!
3. Hungry? Then eat, girl! When I wasn't friends with food and cycled into starving mode, I would make a box of pasta with butter, garlic salt and powdered parmesan cheese. Eat until you feel full with colored food mostly green and go on and have that side dish of pasta.
There is so much more! I am excited to be journaling about how to eat. Not with a label of paleo, fat free, the bible diet, organic, high protein, low protein, NONE OF THAT!

PLEASE DONT STOP THE MUSIC, MUSIC...

There is something so great when the right song comes on while running. Its like the best duo's in history. I'm sure its up there with Lucy and Desi or Mickey and Mini (cracking myself up right now). For me, music is super important while running. I sometimes try to run 3 or 4 miles and pray or have some solitude but mostly I run with music.  Music pumps me up and with a high beats per min. (BPM) you can raise your heart rate and make you run more worth it {shred lb.'s,}.  I search for 200 intense songs which is a lot of top 40, hip hop and house like Flo Rida, Rihanna, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Jay Z and so on. Its not for everyone but everyone should try it.

As we watched all morning and then for weeks after this awful attack, makes me so grateful to be apart of this running community. Just after the 9/11 attack, I saw so many more people wave our American Flag or sticker up their car. So go ahead and buy some running shoes and sign up for that next race!

We all know Ms. Turlington loves her yoga but she has crossed over to the asphault. She is also way more than just a pretty face. My favorite quotes she says about running is "I just love being outside. Everybody keeps asking me if I've been on a permanent vacation because of my tan." But the kicker was when she said this, "It's almost like meditation for me. I've been a yoga practitioner for many years, and I didn't realize there was as much of a connection between long-distance running and my yoga practice. It's not so much that you empty your mind with complete silence and peace, but you do get a sense of being able to see your life and put some order to it.
